NIGHTGLOW IN THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE OF MARS AND IMPLICATIONS FOR
ATMOSPHERIC TRANSPORT
J-L Bertaux et al. have reported the detection of light emissions in the night side Martian atmosphere with the SPICAM ultraviolet (UV) spectrometer on board Mars Express.  The emission is assigned to the creation of NO molecules after N and O atoms are produced by electron UV photodissociation of O2, CO2 , and N2 in the dayside upper atmosphere and transported to the night side.

Oh, yes. Thank you, Campman. So, if someday we land on Mars, we should be careful not to land there by night. Because we may end up in a big Haha due to the laughing gas that might be there as well...  ;)
